Evaluating Risk in Public Participation and Engagement

Every P2/engagement process carries inherent risks, whether in the planning, implementation, or decision-making phases. From the earliest planning stages to implementation and beyond, risks can arise from people dynamics, change impacts, and engagement processes.

Join us for an insightful session where we’ll explore how to identify, assess, and manage risks for an engagement initiative. We’ll focus on four key risk areas and share practical strategies to ensure your consultations are appropriately scaled to the complexity of the issue at hand.

In this webinar, you’ll gain:

  • An understanding of change impact risks and how they shape your engagement strategy.
  • Insights into assessing the readiness of impacted parties, why it matters, and how to support it.
  • Tools to anticipate and mitigate risks in decision-making and stakeholder interactions.
  • Examples of how engagement risks can affect planning and implementation.

Whether you're designing a new engagement process or refining an existing one, this session will equip you with tools to build trust, foster understanding, and support stakeholders through change.
