Prairie Chapter Book Club

IAP2 Canada Prairies Chapter welcomes you to join its 2026 book club! Over the course of the year, we will read three books together. After each book we will meet to discuss what we liked, learned, whether and how we applied what we learned to our engagement practice, and the resulting impact.

Our Commitment:

• Provide prompts and discussion questions
• Host and facilitate discussions
• Incorporate your cues and feedback

Our first book is:

The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters by Priya Parker

Here are some questions you may want to ask yourself as you read:

• Do you notice your professional skills impact the way you host in other contexts?
• What is the most captivating gathering you attended as a guest? What made it meaningful and memorable?
• Have you encountered a situation where you had to be exclusive? Did the author's views on exclusion change your views on it?
• Are there any other books related to public participation that you have read / are interested in reading and would recommend for our second or third book?
