For nearly 20 years Michelle Frilund has led and supported communications for non-profit organizations, as well as every level of government. Over the past six-plus years, she shifted her focus to public participation and community engagement. She is currently the Civic Engagement Manager for the City of Coquitlam where she successfully delivered the community’s first-ever Community Engagement Framework in July 2021.

Michelle is a natural strategist, considering all angles of the problem and connecting people and ideas in order to see a solution. She is a versatile communicator and committed public engagement practitioner having worked on everything from affordable housing, to science and environment, to planning and zoning.

Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Simon Fraser University, is an IABC Silver Leaf award-winning communicator, and an IAP2 Certified Public Participation Practitioner (CP3) and a member of the IAP2 BC/Yukon Board of Directors.
