Are you passionate about continuing education, professional development and training adults? Do you believe in the importance of citizen engagement and the individual’s right to have their voice heard by decision makers around decisions that affect them? Are you looking for an opportunity that allows you to work independently, yet collaboratively, in a work-from-home position?
IAP2 Canada is currently looking for an experienced professional in the field of training and professional development to lead the organization’s training, professional development and certification programs. We are a small national not-for-profit association in the midst of growing and require someone with leadership and decision-making skills who is able to step in, evaluate, manage change, make recommendations and then execute. The ability to think strategically while having attention to detail and excellent program/project management skills are a must.
Founded in 1990, IAP2 Canada is an association of professionals in the field of public participation (P2), who seek to promote and improve the practice in relation to individuals, governments, institutions and other entities that affect the public interest in Canada and around the world. Its programs advance public participation through professional development, networking and events, advocacy for effective public participation, and advancing the practice.
IAP2 Canada delivers the internationally developed, and known, “Foundations” program in Canada in addition to developing and delivering its own training and professional development content. In addition, it is the certifying body in Canada for P2 professionals. It has over 1100 members across Canada and is a diverse community of professionals, citizens, academics, and decision-makers who are committed to involving the public in decisions that affect them.
As our new Manager of Training and Professional Development, you’ll lead a variety of strategies and initiatives related to the development and delivery of both licensed and non-licensed training programs, professional development programming and the CP3 certification, including change management and implementation of a new licensed curriculum. We are seeking a self-starter with a strong work ethic for this work from home position.
This high-profile position, with both internal and external reach, requires an emotionally mature and self-motivated professional with sound judgement, extensive communication skills, and an ability to work under minimal supervision.
