This two-day module provides an introduction to the foundations of effective public participation programs. Students will learn the how, what, why, when and who of public engagement.  We’ll talk about who to involve, how to do it well, how to hear from more than the “usual suspects”, how to plan a process that has purpose and clarity and how to set clear expectations and measure your success.  We’ll talk through getting internal buy-in, how to define the scope of the conversation along with how to identify what is on the table for influence – and what isn’t. We’ll look at case studies and video examples of what works – and what doesn’t. When you are done this module you will have the “Project Management 101” to meaningful, effective and successful public engagement.
