We are excited to present the views and insights of authors in the field of citizen engagement as they discuss their most recent learning and discoveries in the areas on citizen engagement and public participation.  This interactive webinar will feature practitioners and researchers who are furthering the body of knowledge and applying new and innovative approach to their practice.

Featured Panelists:

Dr. Marco Adria is Professor and Co-Chair, Centre for Public Involvement, a strategic research and development partnership established by the University of Alberta and the City of Edmonton. He collaborates with other researchers examining the methods, purposes, and outcomes associated with innovations in public involvement. He led Edmonton’s Citizen Jury on Internet Voting in 2012 and was convener of the Edmonton Citizen Panel on Municipal Budget Priorities in 2009. He is a Past President of the Canadian Association of Library Trustees.

Public and Stakeholder Engagement and Social Impact Assessment Specialist

Founder of The Praxis Group™ in 1980, Richard has 30 years of experience in public consultation, social and economic impact assessment, group facilitation, survey research, consensus building, and social planning. Richard’s primary focus is the design, implementation, and delivery of large public consultation projects. Many of Richard’s projects have involved provincial and national consultations for both public and private sector clients. Internationally, Richard has undertaken projects in Vietnam, South Africa, Colombia, Peru, China, Britain, and the United States. Adjunct Professor – Faculty of Environmental Design, University of Calgary (5 terms of three years).  In this voluntary capacity, Richard taught courses on public and stakeholder engagement, social and economic impact analysis and management of a small business.

This webinar is available FREE of charge to all members of IAP2 Canada and IAP2 USA, as are each of our monthly webinars throughout the year.  Non-members can join this webinar for a $50 fee.
