When
08 Mar 2012
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location
The Brogue Inn, 136 Lakeshore Road East, Port Credit
Learning Topic: Getting Youth involved in Public Consultation
Loren Polonsky, AECOM, will showcase a classroom project undertaken for Durham Region for the Highway 2 Transit Priority project. Durham Region Transit and AECOM asked Grade 5 and 6 students
to develop corridor visions for Highway 2 that incorporated elements of sustainability. The students demonstrated innovation, forward thinking and a genuine concern for the environment.
Corey Ryan, York Region, will showcase the variety of consultation the York Region has undertaken for their Water For Tomorrow project, including a film project where youth were asked to create a series of films, combining a youth’s perspective about the future of water with the experience of a seasoned filmmaker
Collaboration Topic: Moving the Great Lakes Workplan Forward
Following the speaker presentations, the Steering Committee will lead a discussion about the Great Lakes Chapter Workplan and our next steps to achieve chapter status.
