The Richmond, BC, School District, working with Rockandel and Associates, won the award for Respect for Diversity, Inclusion and Culture for its approach to a budget shortfall that threatened to force some schools to close. (Watch their Core Values Award video here.)
The USA Core Values Award for Creativity and Innovation went to a project that set out to bridge the gap between rural and urban/suburban thinking on climate change. The Jefferson Center and the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy set up the Rural Climate Dialogues to see how rural communities might pro-actively respond to environmental challenges.
