Due to the IAP2 North American Conference, the October webinar has been delayed by a week.

Projects aimed at increasing the level of involvement in decision-making for patients in BC's public health system and to ensure a bridge on a major Interstate was built the way the people wanted were among those honored at the 2014 IAP2 Core Values Awards in Winnipeg.

How successful is it, moving patients from the role of "health care consumer" to "health care participant"? Vancouver Coastal Health Authority in BC won the awards for Project of the Year and "Creativity, Collaboration and Innovation in the Field" for the Community Engagement Advisory Network, or CEAN (pronounced "KEEN").  Belinda Boyd and Saori Yamamoto of VCHA will talk about their experiences in making this work.

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODoT) needed to replace an aging bridge over the Willamette River, but it faced challenges due to the size of the bridge (nearly 2000' or 650 m), its location (in a popular park) and a history of public mistrust. The way ODoT used Core Values to transform public opinion earned the Department an honorable mention as IAP2 USA Project of the Year. Jyll Smith will share how her group achieved a very positive outcome.

Important: when you receive your registration confirmation e-mail, you will see another link. You will need to click on that link to reserve your "seat" at our virtual table and receive your login instructions.

Please note: Due to Remembrance Day, the November webinar will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 18, one week later than normal. The December webinar will take place on its normal day -- the second Tuesday of the month (Dec. 9).
