A New IAP2 Chapter is Emerging in Ontario!

05 Oct 2011 10:22 PM | Anonymous

Members and P2 practitioners alike are looking for local networking, best practices, training and communications closer to home. From Barrie to Fort Erie and Kingston to Windsor, IAP2 members in Ontario will soon have a new chapter to call their own.

A huge thank you goes out to those who were able to attend our IAP2 chapter formation event in Mississauga last week. Caitlin Burley from Golder Associates provided interesting insights on two of her current projects on either end of the IAP2 Spectrum. Amelia Shaw, IAP2 Canada
President, spoke about IAP2 Canada, and the steps involved in starting a local chapter. Finally, Tracey Ehl led a vibrant discussion around our hopes and dreams for a new local chapter, and collectively we identified a number of key areas to get us started and keep our momentum. Presentations are available for review in the members section of www.iap2canada.ca.

To kick start our new chapter, a Steering Committee is being formed to guide the initiation process. So far, Committee members include Katrina Broughton, Caitlin Burley, Brent Bullough, Sherif Kinawy, Natalie Seniuk, Tracey Ehl, Dennis Guy, Bob Waldon, and Loren Polonsky.

Chapter Social Event This Fall!

To inaugurate the start of this chapter, a community social event will be held at the beginning of December. Details about the even location and date will be sent out and posted at the beginning of November.

Getting Involved

If you are interested in joining the Steering Committee, please send an email to Katrina Broughton at Katrina.broughton@aecom.com.

If you are interested in helping out but cannot commit to a Steering Committee, consider other ways you can volunteer your time. Do you have a great idea for a learning or social event? Interesting research you’d like to share? Communication or outreach opportunities? Two working groups – events/logistics and outreach/communications – are also forming. If you can help in either of these areas, please email Katrina Broughton Katrina.broughton@aecom.com.

Stay tuned for additional information via e-mail and on the IAP2 Canada website at www.iap2canada.ca
